It's the awards season again and the Grammys, BAFTAs and the Oscars have all been keeping the red-carpets red-hot this winter. The marine world is no different and we are proud to announce that Waterbuoy has just scooped top boating honours on both sides of the Atlantic.
At the 2008 BBEx show in Bournemouth, Waterbuoy CEO James Halliburton, was awarded the "Dyer Burdett Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award" by a panel of boating industry experts. On the other side of the Atlantic in the USA, Waterbuoy has also just scooped a coveted place in SAILS magazine's "Freeman K. Pittman Innovation Awards" honouring the best gear in the marine market.
"I'm thrilled to be receiving this award", says 27-year old James. "Waterbuoy has taken over my life for the last three years, but it's all been worthwhile. There are moments when you wonder what on earth you are getting yourself into, but it's always reassuring when the final products makes such an impact in the target market. Our distribution network is experiencing rapid growth throughout Europe, with the USA and the rest of the world territories all scheduled to come online by the end of the year."
Since the product's launch in late 2007 we've received many industry awards for this innovative product and we've attracted huge attention from both UK and International media, including the BBC here in the UK.
We continue to be featured in a variety of titles across many market sectors and we look forward to bringing you the updates as they happen.
